Questions and answers
Do I need a passport?
Not if you're a U.S. citizen: St. Croix is a U.S. territory. Bring a government ID. Non-U.S. citizens follow normal U.S. entry rules.
Are there direct flights from Europe, Canada, or outside the US?
No. Every nonstop to St. Croix (STX) comes from either the U.S. mainland — Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta, Chicago, seasonal Fort Lauderdale, and Newark beginning October 31, 2026 — or the nearby Caribbean: San Juan (Puerto Rico), St. Thomas, and Nevis. There are no direct flights from Europe, Canada, or anywhere else. From Europe or Canada you connect through a U.S. gateway (most often Miami, Charlotte, or Atlanta) or through San Juan, then take the short hop across. Non-U.S. visitors clear U.S. customs at that first mainland airport, not on St. Croix. The getting here page has the full route map.
How do I see prices and availability?
On each home's booking page, reached from the button on its villa page. We don't print prices on this site because they change with season and length of stay; the booking page is always current.
Is booking direct cheaper?
It's the same house with fewer layers. Availability and pricing on the booking page are the numbers we work from; the difference is dealing with the on-island manager directly, not a secret rate.
Which homes are on the beach?
Shoy's Beach House, The Cerulean, Toes in the Sand and Sunset Oasis list beachfront in their amenities. The Cerulean has a sandy, swimmable beach; Toes in the Sand's shore is rocky per a guest review. See the beachfront collection.
Do I need a car?
Yes, practically. Our homes are private and spread across the island; there is no Uber or Lyft. Six verified rental companies operate here, most at the airport or with free delivery.
Which side of the road?
The left, in ordinary American cars. It feels odd for about twenty minutes.
What about hurricane season?
June 1 to November 30 on paper; August and September are the active months in practice. Buy travel insurance, book flexibly, and talk to us: we watch forecasts with our guests. Fall is also the quietest, greenest, best-value time of year.
Can you arrange a chef or provisioning?
Several of our listings note that a private chef, provisioning and other services can be arranged on request. Ask us when you book.
Are the reviews real?
Yes, every one. They're the actual guest reviews from each home's Airbnb listing, shown with the reviewer's own name and photo and quoted word for word, including the critical notes. We didn't write ourselves any praise. See them all on the <a href="/reviews/">reviews page</a>.
How do I get to Buck Island?
Only five NPS-authorized operators can take you; several leave from the Christiansted boardwalk and one pair (Teroro II and Dragonfly) from near Green Cay Marina on the East End. Book ahead in season.
Can I stay a month or more?
Yes. One guest stayed two months at The Cerulean. Longer stays often price differently and the quiet months are the best value; contact us with dates.
