Accessibility Statement

SP Vacations wants every guest and owner to be able to use this website. This statement says what we have done, what still falls short, and how to reach a person if something does not work for you.

Our target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across this site. Where a page falls short, we would rather hear about it than guess.

What is in place

• Semantic HTML: one main heading per page, headings in order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and a "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
• Text alternatives: descriptive alt text on island and villa photographs; purely decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Keyboard access: links, buttons, filters, the menu and every form control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Color and contrast: body text, buttons and labels meet the AA contrast ratio, and we do not rely on color alone to carry meaning.
• Motion: the site's animations can be switched off with the "Motion: Full / Calm" control in the menu and the footer. The home-page video has no sound and no speech, so it needs no captions.
• Forms: every field has a visible label, errors are reported in text, and no consent box is pre-checked.
• Layout: pages reflow on phones without sideways scrolling, and text can be enlarged in the browser.

Known limitations

• Villa photo galleries: each listing photo carries a short alt text ("The Cerulean, photo 12"), not a full description of what the picture shows. We are adding descriptions, starting with the most-viewed homes.
• The interactive island map is drawn by a mapping library and is not fully operable by keyboard or screen reader. Every place on the map is also listed as plain text and links below it, so nothing is available only through the map.
• The St. Croix reference PDF is a print-style document and is not yet fully tagged for screen readers. The same content is on the web page it downloads from.
• Booking happens on each home's booking page, run by our reservation platform. Its accessibility is outside our control. If it blocks you, call or email us and we will complete the booking with you.

The homes themselves

We have not yet audited the homes for wheelchair access, and we do not want to overstate what they offer. Most are hillside or beachfront houses with steps at the entrance, between levels or down to the sand. One of them, the Cozy Condo with Beach Access, lists "single level home" among the amenities on its listing. Before you book, tell us what you need and we will describe the specific home as it is: steps at the entrance, door widths where we can measure them, the bathroom layout (walk-in shower or tub, grab bars), whether a bedroom is on the ground floor, parking, and how the pool is reached. If a home does not suit, we will say so.

How we test

Pages are checked with automated accessibility tools (axe-core, September 2026) and by keyboard in Chrome on desktop and mobile. We have not yet completed a full review with a screen reader; that is the next step on our list.
